Visit Lovely and Historical Tbilisi
Day 02: Explore. Istanbul
Tbilisi is straight off a postcard.
Nestled in the foothills of the magnificent Caucasus mountain range, on either side of the glistening Mtkvari River, Tbilisi is a colourful city with a fascinating history. Founded in the 5th century, this city has been ruled by Arabs, Turks, Georgian kings, Mongols, Iranians and Russians. Countless battles and disruptions tore the city down multiple times, but Tbilisi rose from the ruins 29 times and became stronger every time.
The culture and architecture of Tbilisi are inspired from its multiple rulers. As you walk down the cobblestone lanes of Tbilisi, you will notice how Medieval, Neoclassical, Beaux Arts, Art Nouveau, Stalinist and Modern styles of architecture co-exist in this city.
While Tbilisi is home to numerous ethnicities, there is one thing that runs common amongst its locals: warmth. The locals are welcoming and treat you like their own. The cuisine is colourful, delectable and will leave you asking for more.
Be ready to be charmed by this quaint capital of Georgia.
